Half Day Climbing
Rock Climbing has become one of the fastest growing sports in Britain. Indoor climbing centres are to be found throughout the country and many people have now tried the climbing wall experience. However, there is no substitute for the real thing! Natural rock presents a very different challenge when the holds are not colour-
Burrington Combe is the venue for most of our sessions. The climbing area has six climbs of varying difficulty. They all start reasonably easily but each then presents its own problem to solve with the two hardest climbs having really challenging overhanging sections. The first half of the climbs are all reasonably easy so everybody regardless of age or ability can have a go.
Split Rock is an alternative venue we mainly use for abseiling but it does have some excellent climbs. With a small group we can often complete the climbs with time remaining for an abseil on the 25 metre wall. The climbs are not significantly harder than Burrington but they do have difficult starts making this a less suitable venue for younger children.
Group size is usually a maximum of 9 but we can provide additional instructors to take additional groups.
